Oman Air is the national carrier of Oman. The airline was founded in the year 1981 and has since emerged as one of the largest airlines operating in the Middle East. Its headquarter is located at Muscat International Airport in Seeb, Muscat, which also serves as its hub. At present, it offers flights to more than 40 destinations across Africa, Asia, Middle East, and Europe. Cairo, Male, Colombo, Bangkok, Tehran, Doha, Paris, Milan, and London are a few cities served by the airline. The airline has become the first in the world to offer mobile phone and Wi-Fi services onboard. Currently, Emirates, Ethiopian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and Turkish Airlines are its codeshare partners. Its fleet comprises Embraer 175, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 737-700, ATR 42-500, Airbus A330-300, and Airbus A330-200 series aircrafts. Sindbad Frequent Flyer is the name of the airline’s frequent flyer program. The airline has been felicitated for its services umpteen number of times. In the year 2011, the airline added another feather to its cap by winning the Gold award in the “Airline of the Year” category at France’s Laurier d’Or du Voyage d’Affaires.
